Today I am sharing a second exclusive tip from Sage’s 50 Tried and Tested business tips resource, that I have been given early access to as a Sage Business Expert.

The resource has the following sections:

  1. Start Your Business
  2. Grow Your Business
  3. Manage Cash Flow
  4. Control Your Costs
  5. Work Life Balance
  6. Employing People
  7. Beating Business Fears

Yesterday I shared a practical tip from the Start Your Business section, and on Day 7, I will give you access to the full resource.

Do keep posted.

Todays Tip from the Grow Your Business Sections is:

Use social media to reflect your brand personality

We’ve relied on social media to promote our business and communicate with existing and prospective customers since we started in 2008. It’s an invaluable tool, not only to get your name out there and be recognised, but to listen to consumers, position your products and your messaging accordingly, and to get your brand personality across. I believe social media is most effective when it’s unfiltered and without hidden motives. Be yourself, show the world what you’re about, and listen to what people have to say.

It’s no secret that I am a real fan of social media, it’s enabled me to:

  • reach a global audience
  • be easily accessible by the media
  • get to know my potential clients and for them to get to know me
  • keep abreast of the most up to date information
  • share my good news and useful information
  • find opportunities to collaborate

When you use social media to talk to your customers, you don’t just share your product, but your values, ethos, your passions and that’s what customers are really interested in.

I am Jenny Garrett, Executive Coach, founder of Reflexion Associates, a leadership and coaching consultancy and author or Rocking Your Role – the how to guide to success for female breadwinners. Tomorrow I’ll share a tip on how to Manage Cash Flow from the Sage 50 Tried and tested business tips.
