For women who Rock their Role in work and life

Can women be funny?

I am terrible at telling jokes, no I take that back, it’s not telling jokes, it’s remembering them that is difficult.

I wanted to tell you a joke today because I don’t think we laugh enough and the warm feeling left after a good laugh seems to blow all of the cobwebs away.

I scanned the internet, but I probably wasn’t searching properly.  I couldn’t really find any jokes specifically to make women laugh, there were lots of jokes about women however.

Then I came across an article entitled: Why women’s jokes fall flat in the boardroom which states that women use self-deprecating humour that doesn’t go down well in the boardroom.

I started to think about it and I can be funny, at least I laugh at my own jokes! But my jokes are not well structured and carefully executed like that of a stand up comedienne.

What do you think, are women funny? Does your humour always involve putting yourself down?

Can you tell fantastic jokes? If so, share some with me and I’ll try to commit one to memory

Let’s make it a laughter filled Wednesday.

  1. I was going to post a joke, but what is funny is that the ONE joke I remember when people ask, “who’s got a joke?” is so distateful that once I edit it it isn’t even funny anymore.

  2. I found this quote and remembered your blog:
A witty woman is a treasure; a witty beauty is a power.
    George Meredith
